    Hair & Skin
Many women with PCOS struggle with loss of head hair, unwanted body hair, darkened skin in the underarms, neck, and groin, skin tags, and early onset of liver spots. Loss of head hair and unwanted body hair are both caused by the presence of too much male hormone. Chiral Balance’s new product, Hair Health, combines two herbs to help with all of these symptoms.

    Ingredients:

    • Saw Palmetto is an herb that weakens the action of male hormones, thereby protecting the hair of the scalp and preventing it from falling out. The herb also protects the follicles over the rest of the body to keep body hair from growing longer, thicker, and darker.
    • Milk Thistle has been shown to protect the liver from stress and even help repair existing damage. The liver is the body’s clearinghouse and needs to be in good working order to maintain healthy skin. Male hormones and insulin resistance put stress on the liver; in one study 55% of women with PCOS were found to have fatty liver disease and most of them had no knowledge of having the disease.

Chiral Balance Vitex — NOW AVAILABLE! Click here to order!

    Fertility
The simplest of our new formulations is Vitex, also called chasteberry or vac, a long-time standard of Trying-To-Conceive (TTC) members of the PCOS community.

While the exact mechanism of Vitex’s action is still unclear, centuries of traditional medicine and now modern research both agree: Vitex can improve fertility and help regulate menstrual cycles.

As an added benefit, many of the active ingredients in Vitex are also being investigated as therapeutic agents in cancer treatment.

    Ingredients:

    • Vitex Agnus Castus: Chiral Balance sources a high-quality, standardized preparation of the dried berries.

Chiral Balance Tri Sense — AVAILABLE SOON!

    Insulin Sensitivity
One of the most common symptoms of PCOS is insulin resistance. Chiral Balance D-chiro-inositol is one of the most effective insulin sensitizers anywhere, backed by years of positive customer experiences and several clinical trials. There is no substitute for Chiral Balance DCI, but we’re pleased to offer a new support product: Tri Sense.

    Ingredients:

    • Cinnamon, rich in sensitivity-boosting polyphenols. Everyone has heard of it, many people take it, but did you know that too little or too much cinnamon can be ineffective? We’ve optimized the dose to 500 mg, taken twice daily.
    • Chromium as propionate. Unlike polynicotinate and picolinate, chromium as propionate is not a suspected carcinogen and is more bioavailable (the quantity of the dose that is absorbed).
    • Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is a marvelous flavonoid. EGCG is one of the active ingredients in green tea extract. In addition to being a potent anti-oxidant and cancer-fighter, the ingredient is also great support for insulin sensitivity.
    • Vitamin D3, long known for relieving PCOS symptoms, has years of historical association with PCOS along with dozens of studies to support the supplement’s benefits.
Johanna says:

I would like to know when the new products, specifically the Chiral Balance Hair Health and Vitex will be avaiable?

Chiral Balance says:

Hi Johanna,

While we have finalized these formulations, bringing them to market requires lots of documentation related to cGMP. As the FDA published some revisions the cGMP not long ago, insuring compliance has been our primary goal and has consumed enormous amounts of time. When we have a firm new release date, we will make an announcement via our newsletter.

EMILY says:

Can you take Retress if you are TTC?

Chiral Balance says:

Hi Emily,

Yes, that is fine.

Rumika says:

Can Vitex and DCI work together? I am 46, have a seven year old boy and had three mc after. I recently started taking thyroid medicine and heard that this might help. I always wanted to have more than one child. As I married late, I accept that I may not have another child. I have pcos and the DCI has helped me for years. Would the vitex do the same?

Chiral Balance says:

Hi Rumika,

It is fine to take DCI and Vitex in conjunction; they complement each other well. Vitex’ mechanism of action is less well understood and it tends to take longer to begin having positive effects on ovulation. However, if you are taking DCI and seeing good results, but are still not ovulating regularly, then Vitex is certainly worth trying.

Bobbe says:

I am post menopausal. Menopause set in when I was 45. Am 60 now. If I take Chiral Balance will my periods start up again? I’m also interested in Tri Sense. I already take cinnamon and chromium along with a calcium-vitamin D supplement. Will I be over doing it?

Chiral Balance says:

Hi Ree,

Our flagship product is D-chiro-inositol (DCI), which was shown in clinical trials to have have significant benefits for several biochemical features of PCOS. DCI increased the likelihood of ovulation, lowered testosterone (which should improve symptoms like acne and hair thinning). We recommend DCI as a starting point for PCOS women. Our other products are intended more as an adjuvant to DCI than as stand-alone products, although you are certainly welcome to try them as such.

Chiral Balance says:

Hi Bobbe,

There is little information on your age group, PCOS and DCI. However, many women with PCOS who are menopausal or post-menopausal have actually experienced premature ovarian failure (rather than true menopause) as a result of PCOS. At age 60, this is likely not a concern for you, but I do like to mention it when I hear from women with PCOS who are post-menopausal. I know personally of one our customers who was ‘post-menopausal’ but still suffering from PCOS symptoms. After she started taking our product, her symptoms were alleviated but her monthly cycle also resumed and blood work confirmed that her hormone levels were in fact pre-menopausal again. This was a major concern for her as she and her husband had no desire for more children, and so she ultimately started taking oral contraceptives as well. I mention all of this because clinical data on DCI and women in this age group is non-existent, so we have to rely on personal case histories. Please let me know if you have any further questions; and again, at 59, I think resuming your cycle in response to DCI is essentially impossible. Our product still addresses the underlying cause of PCOS in many women, and this does not depend on their age menopause status. D-chiro-inositol may still benefit you.
The Tri-sense is still in development, but when it is available, we’ll send out a newsletter. When that day comes, you may be able to just get all of your supplements in one single product.

Lynn says:

Hello! Is Vitex and Retress ok to take in conjunction with Clomid and DCI? It seems that each of these products compliment each other well but I want to make sure that I am not putting too much into my body even though they are all natural products.

Chiral Balance says:

Hi Lynn,

It is perfectly fine! to Vitex and Retress in conjunction with DCI. I can’t speak to how they would interact with Clomid. However, if the DCI and the Vitex have their desired effects, then the Clomid would become unnecessary, as you would begin cycling on your own.

Latoya says:

I would like to know if I take DCI in the place of metformin Vitex to help regulate my menstrual cycles do you recommend a prenatalvitamin as well with iron because it has known to be a littlelow how should I take them all at once or split doses u .TTC

Chiral Balance says:

Hi Latoya,

Some women with PCOS find that D-chiro-inositol is an excellent substitute for metformin. Others find that it complements metformin well and they continue to take both. If you wish to start taking DCI, there is no need to stop taking Vitex. If you are trying to conceive, you absolutely need to be taking a prenatal vitamin. All prenatal vitamins have iron in them, the exact amount varies from brand to brand. If you think you need extra iron, you can also try take a separate iron supplement. If you take more than one capsule of DCI daily, it is best to take them in divided doses over the course of the day.

Kelly says:

What is the recommended dosage on Retress? I’ve seen two DCI capsules recommended for some people depending on weight. What are the guidelines for Retress and the other new supplements?

Chiral Balance says:

Hi Kelly,

The recommended dosage for Retress is 1 capsule twice daily.

JENNY says:

Hello, I was wondering since I have all the issues that your products address, can I take all your products at the same time? Thanks so much.

Chiral Balance says:

Hi Jenny,

Yes, it is fine to take D-chiro-inositol in conjunction with Vitex as well as Retress. It is important to note that Vitex should be discontinued if you become pregnant and Retress should also be discontinued if you become pregnant, neither should be taken if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

LULU says:
